The Appalachian Trail stretches from Georgia to Maine (2100 miles) and covers some of the most breathtaking terrain in America. Iowa native, Bill Bryson, decided to hike the entire trail and write a book about his adventure. Throughout the pages he introduces us to the history and ecology of the trail and to some of the other more interesting people he meets along the way- not to mention a couple of bears too. Bryson uses a great deal of humor and wit that makes it difficult to put the book down.
