Brain on Fire

By Susannah Cahalan

Genre: Non-Fiction/Memoir

A riveting memoir account of a young girl's descent into madness. Susannah Cahalan was a young reporter for the New York Post when she started to experience paranoia and sleep deprivation. Within a week she was in a hospital and labled as "violent, phsychotic and a flight risk." The memoir is her own account gathered from her memory, and when her memory failed her, she put together the pieces from her family's accounts, hospital records and her father's journal of her time in the hospital. It is a fascinating medical tale of her conditoin and the miraculous last minute diagnosis that saves her.
